improving my digital footprint with Animal Jam
Welcome back everyone,
I haven't told this story to a lot of people, you guys will be among the first to hear it! This blog isn't my first rodeo, my first blogging experience actually involved the creation of an Animal Jam blog in grade 3...I used to comment everywhere on my favourite blogger's posts. In fact, my Animal Jam username became one of the most used words on their blog! It was all my fault that that occurred...he never typed it out, I just spammed it in the comment sections. That animated koala inspired me to make a blog as well and thus my writing career began. Unfortunately, I was severely lacking in content. I would only write about new items coming out and I doubt that half of my posts sounded intelligent and grammatically correct. I can never get rid of those comments that I posted since I didn't have an associated account with them. Thankfully, that also means that nothing is linking me and my digital footprint to those comments...aside from this.
Speaking of a digital footprint, keeping a squeaky clean image online has been of special concern to me as of late. My online Co-op classes recently started; these lessons involve refining our resumes, perfecting our interview skills, and increasing our marketability. In short, this syllabus is meant to teach us how to prepare for our future careers. I created a Facebook account in middle school (I know, probably not the best choice) which I utilized throughout my years there. Immediately after graduation, I erased all the "likes" and "comments" that I had ever made. I realized that I wanted a clean transition into high school without running the risk of anything from the past haunting me. Although my future employers hopefully won't care about whether or not I like cat photos, I want to show them a person who has more willpower and motivation. I want to depict myself as a capable and responsible person with all suitable qualifications and the desire to improve. That... can't really occur if they see all my subpar Animal Jam blog posts! This is my redemption, I'm here to show my growth. To rectify the mistakes of my past, to make up for all the terrible Animal Jam articles that I've written before, I'm here to show you a meritable one!
Upon attempting to log onto Animal Jam, I'm greeted with an "Incorrect Password" image. Disappointingly, I have zero ideas about what email was used to create my first ever Animal Jam account. I made it with a friend in grade 3, when all the other girls in my class already had one and were raving about it. I think she might have used her mom's email or something along those lines...nonetheless, it would be extremely awkward to ask her about it now. As a result, I created a new account. Add me up on Jamma!
Once logged in, I realized just how crowded it was! It seems insane that there are still people who play Animal Jam, that game truly is long-lived. Nothing much seems to have changed though- there's still the aquarium where you can fondle all the stingrays, and the beach shack with the smoothies is still running a successful business. However, there's a new Phantoms game that takes place within the ocean! For all of us looking for an escape from the gloom of lockdown boredom, consider a getaway to the Beach House! I'm unable to visit because I'm not a member, but maybe it'll be a worthwhile experience for you! ππ I guess this goes to show that kids really don't need much to be entertained...through them onto a website with a bunch of cute websites and limitless customizable features and they'll be out of your hair for the day! I really wish that I had studied harder when I was younger.
However, there's no use of mourning what I've lost if I don't continue to work hard and strive for better. I really have no qualifications to give out this advice, but I feel as though this experience is universal. All of us have things that we regret and things that we hope to improve in. Though I can't change my past, I can use knowledge of it to control my future. I hope that this message will inspire some people to make the most of what they have now. Take advantage of all the resources you have at hand, people are rooting for you!
Good luck on your journey,
Natalie
